Privacy Policy

This policy is effective as of April 16, 2007.

General Policies

Welcome to Zollege. Zollege (collectively, "Zollege", "Zollege.com", "Nicholas Pettit", or "we") is an online tool that was created with the intention of helping college students effectively communicate messages to their local community. To maintain the separation between communities, to help insure that members can post flyers only to schools that they attend, and to provide you (the visitor and/or member) with a quality service in general, we require you to provide us with personal information during the registration process.

We understand that you may have privacy concerns and may not be comfortable providing information about yourself, which is why we designed Zollege so that you can easily control the information that other members can and cannot see, via the My Account page.

Information Collected by Zollege

If you wish to post flyers to Zollege, you must be a registered member. During the registration process, we require that you agree to provide us with your name, your date of birth, and your email address. On the My Account page, we give you the option to provide us with additional information, such as your phone number, your AIM screen name, and an additional email address.

Regardless of whether or not you choose to register with Zollege, we may choose to collect information about visitors to this site, including, but not limited to, the email addresses of those who communicate with us via email and via the site's contact page, aggregate information on what pages visitors access or visit, user-specific information (including IP addresses) on what pages visitors access or visit, information volunteered by visitors, and information volunteered via email.

Policies for Minors

We do not provide membership for or collect information about children under the age of 13 and enforce this policy by requiring that members of this site provide their date of birth upon registering. If you believe Zollege has collected information from a person or persons under the age of 13, please contact us immediately at info@zollege.com so that we can delete the information as soon as possible.

We recommend that minors over the age of 13 ask their parent(s) or guardian prior to sending any personal information about themselves over the Internet.

Use of Information Collected by Zollege

The three pieces of information we gather, if you choose to register, are primarily used for, but are not limited to, the following purposes:

    Your Name

    • This is used to identify yourself to us and to other members when posting flyers.

    Your Date of Birth

    • This is used to make sure that you are over the age of 13 (persons under the age of 13 are not allowed to register).
    • This is used to identify whether or not you are under the age of 18.

    Your Email Address

    • This is used as your account login.
    • This is used to contact you in the case that you choose to not provide an alternate contact email address.

The contact information that you may optionally fill out upon registration or via the My Account page is primarily used for the purposes of posting flyers that contain useful contact information for other members to see, without you having to retype this information every time you post a flyer. The exception to this is the contact email address that you can choose to provide, which, in addition to serving the aforementioned purpose, also functions as the email address which Zollege will use to contact you. As mentioned in the bulleted list above, if you do not provide us with a contact email address, we will send emails to the login email address you provided during registration.

It is important to note that you will only receive email messages from Zollege when you register, when there is an urgent account and/or privacy concern, when there is important information pertaining to Zollege that is being announced to all members, or if you initiate correspondence with us either by email or through our contact page.

Any information we collect, in sum or in part, may be used for purposes which include, but are not limited to, improving the content and services provided by this site, customization of content and/or layout of individual pages for individual visitors, correspondence with members via email for the purposes mentioned above, applied metrics, academic studies, and research involving the development of future web sites and/or web services.

We may decide, at any time, to use visitor information for new, unanticipated uses not previously disclosed in this Privacy Policy. Any time a new or unanticipated use for visitor information arises, it will be stated in this policy before it takes effect.
